Atmospheric Chemistry at the ACS National Meeting

This past week, atmospheric chemistry was featured in a week-long session at the 244th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society held in Philadelphia, PA.  Co-sponsored by the Physical and Environmental Chemistry Divisions, the session entitled “Kinetics and Mechanism in the Atmosphere” took on a wide variety of topics, including the climatic impact of aerosols and the role of organic chemistry, new uses for optical spectroscopy, reactive nitrogen chemistry, as well as reactions of organic trace gases in the atmosphere.

The session was co-organized by CAICE Investigator Timothy Bertram (UC San Diego) and Prof. Ron Cohen (UC Berkeley).  Oral presentations on studies pertaining to CAICE were given by Prof. Kimberly Prather,  Prof. Francesco Paesani, and graduate student Olivia Ryder.
