CAICE Intensive Campaign Moves on into its Second Week: Marine Biology!

The CAICE Intensive Campaign at our ocean-atmosphere chamber is now entering its second and final week of experimentation.  The first week has seen many hours of sampling, formal and informal science discussions, lab tours, and late nights.  All measurements are running smoothly, and feedback from real-time and quick-turnaround offline analysis has shown to be quite insightful.

The group has now moved from measurements and inter-comparisons of aerosol generation methods using filtered ‘clean’ seawater, to a mode where the water in the wave tank will be ‘spiked’ with algae and phytoplankton cultures to investigate the control of ocean biology on aerosol chemical and physical properties.
