CAICE Undergraduate Researcher Mallory Pickett Awarded for Summer Work

As the 2011-2012 Academic Year begins at UC San Diego, CAICE undergraduate researcher and Calit2 Summer Research Scholar Mallory Pickett was given the opportunity to summarize her summer research experiences alongside the other 23 scholarship recipients in a special poster session held yesterday on the UCSD campus. Calit2 UCSD Division Director Ramesh Rao presented Mallory with the Best Poster award for having “the most professional, creative, and informative poster”.  Her work, entitled “Chemical Aging of Glyoxal in the Presence of Triethylamine”, was further highlighted within the scholarship program, as she was one of four scholars selected to present their research to the members of Calit2 in a separate session.  Mallory plans to continue this project through the remainder of her time at UCSD, and is looking forward to beginning a graduate degree next fall.
