Science Communication Fellowship
Participants work alongside CAICE research teams and act as the conduit for sharing CAICE science with diverse audiences through various forms of science communication.
Summer Undergraduate Science Communication Fellowship
The 2022 CAICE Summer Undergraduate Science Communication Fellowship is a program that aims to combine summer undergraduate research experiences with robust science communication. Participants will work closely with researchers from multiple universities to create engaging and accessible science communication that conveys CAICE science to diverse audiences.
Applications are NOW OPEN and will close February 28th 2022.

- Mentoring from CAICE faculty and the CAICE Director of Education, Outreach & Diversity
- Work closely with CAICE researchers and learn about the latest scientific developments
- Gain experience translating scientific research into multiple forms of science communication
- 10 week program at UC San Diego starting June 2022
- Preparation for graduate school, attend professional development & symposiums
- Publication of your work on the CAICE website
- Receive a stipend of $5000 and up to $500 in travel costs
Who Should Apply?
- Application open to undergraduates with an interest in chemistry *and* science communication
- Women, students from underrepresented groups, and military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply
- Priority will be given to current 2nd and 3rd year undergraduates
- Students from community colleges are encouraged to apply
- Open to U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents only

Important Notes
- The deadline to submit your Application Form and the Recommendation Form is February 28, 2022, otherwise your application will be considered incomplete
- Accepted participants will be notified in March 2022
